INNHS is a pilot school for the Refined Secondary Education Curriculum, Career Pathways, Foreign Language (Spanish) Curriculum, and Consumer Education. It is also noted for its special program that perpetuates the playing of indigenous Ilocano musical instruments, tambor (drum) and pito (bamboo flute). The Laoag - Ilocos Norte School of Living Traditions on the Playing Tambor (Drum) and Pito (Bamboo Flute) sponsored by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the City Government of Laoag, the Kalayaan Philippines of Hawaii, and INNHS Alumni Class 1965.
