Afternoon Saturday Class (ASC): Providing opportunities for working students

 

The Ilocos Norte National High School, Afternoon Saturday Class (ASC) caters to working students who work in the morning and attends classes in the afternoon. Classes start at 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The students enjoy the same privileges like the students of the other programs. They might be the oldest group in the INHHS Campus but this is not a hindrance in their quest for their dreams and aspirations. Life they say is like a box of chocolate, one never knows what chocolate will be singled out next in the box. Likewise, the final kismet of the ASC is yet to come.

Assessment System
Assessment System

Scores are recorded as raw (not transmuted) and totaled at the end of grading period (student’s score/highest possible score X 100). Final Grade in every subject is the average of 4 periodical grades. Grades are based on assessment specified in PSSLC, 60% basic items, 30% medium, level items (Higher level skills) and 10% difficult items (distinguishing fast learners). Non- traditional assessment (open-ended questions, performance-based portfolio) are encouraged to complement traditional assessment.

Promotion/Retention

Students who fail in less than 3 units are promoted to next level. Student who fail in 3 units or more is retained in same level. Students will be required to repeat the subjects failed and given advance subjects in the next level.
